The Poor House, Dublin
House of Industry or the South Dublin Workhouse. In 1704 Thomas Burgh seems to have had at least some input into the construction of same in a typically Burghesque functional style. The building was only finally demolished after the 1950s with various elements still surviving. The image is taken from Charles Brooking's Map of Dublin of 1728. www.dia.ie/works/view/53494/building/CO.+DUBLIN%2C+DUBLIN.
