PROVINCIA. PROVENCE

This map of the Provence was published in 1631 by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) and his son Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). A map of the Provence by Pierre Jean Bompar from 1591 was used as example. Bompars map was already published in 1595 in the atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum by Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598).
