Fort Sumter I Battlefield South Carolina
Map of battlefield core and study areas. The ABPP expanded the 1993 Study Area to include the eastern anchorage location of the US Navy and Fort Sumter’s resupply fleet. Study Area revisions also reduced the boundaries around Charleston Harbor to better reflect the Confederate battery locations. The ABPP adjusted the Core Area to represent the fields of fire associated with Confederate batteries involved in the bombardment of Fort Sumter.
